We all go through the constant struggle to balance our time. Thinking to ourselves, am I spending enough time studying? Did I work enough hours this week? Did I remember to make time for my friends? This is a constant thought cycle in this crazy thing we call life. We want it all, but there just aren't enough hours in the day. It is often said that we just need to prioritize, do the things that matter most to us. I fail to see how that is a reasonable expectation to set. We want to work so we have money to do the things we want. So, it seems that everything else sort of has to take the back burner. I guess that's why you always hear about the retired elderly couple that has sold everything and is traveling the world. They never had time to do anything except work so now they have decided that enough is enough. Wouldn't it be nice if they had come to this conclusion sooner? I think this is why we are seeing such an uptick in minimalism and tiny homes. People have decided they want to do more and have less. They made it a priority and they are sticking to it. I myself don't want to wait until I'm too old to enjoy it before I go to Hawaii or Greece. So, cash in those stock piled vacation days and take that trip you've been putting off. Doing what you want in life is really priority number one. Everything else is able to be attributed to it. We've only got one life to live, so let's make it count. XOXO, Hunter.

Back to our regularly scheduled blogging.Like I said Tuesday, I love TV shows! They are like these little worlds you can get sucked into and take a break from reality. I get into the stories and way to emotionally invested in character. That being said I'm always on the look out for new shows to immerse myself into. If any of you are like me, this is the post for you. Here in my Winter Watch List.
WINTER WATCH LIST
XOXO, Hunter For this blog post I had originally planned on writing about TV shows that are coming back from their winter hiatuses. While we will definitely get into that at some point because Lord knows, I love my TV shows. Today however I want to steer us in a much different direction. I want to talk about something I have been feeling all around me. Hate. As a very famous man, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." What I'm trying to get at here is exactly what Dr.King said. If you feel someone hating you or spreading hate in the world, love them. Love them until it hurts, until you are physically sitting on the ground in tears because you love them so much, even if they continue to hate you. Recently, I have felt the very heavy weight of hate in my life. Now, I don't have the dictionary definition of "Hate" for you, but for me personally its a little like this. To hate someone is to refuse to show them compassion, empathy, or love and yet to continually welcome their love for you. To use the love they give, help they provide, and time they spend attempting to earn a love that you never intend to give. To me this is a form of hate. As I type these words I feel a phantom twinge of pain in my heart that feels all too familiar. All I try to spread in this word is love. Sometimes misguided, unwanted, or unappreciated. I want people to love me. We all do, it's just human nature. I feel emotion harder than most. So, I know what it means to empathize. I feel peoples pain and attempt to repair it by offering myself as their band aid. Like a band aid, this often leads to me being used, and later thrown away when I'm determined to be less useful then I once was. For someone like me, who only wants to help and gain love, trust, and support this is the single worst feeling. So, the moral of this story is that I want everyone to figure out if your someones hater. Because if you are it's time to reevaluate some things in your life. If you are keeping people from loving you, it is paramount that you discover why. Hunter. I've had a tremendous obsession with skin care. In fact, I have tried almost every drugstore brand of skin care. Clearasil, Clean&Clear, Neutrogena, Olay, I could go on but I sure you get the point. I love to experiment and see what each type of face wash does for my skin. I've also tried big name brands like Bio Clarity and Mary Kay. I am currently eyeballing one new brand specifically I'm dying to try. It's called "Drunk Elephant". I know the name is weird but it supposed to be the most bang for your buck skin care. My skin changes from normal to oily, but in the winter it gets very dry. Finding one product that is conducive to all three is difficult. Plus I believe it is super important to change up your products and routine. Your body is extremely adaptive and using one product that is great for awhile can start to seem unhelpful. Because like anything else your body will adjust to it and the product will begin to become ineffective. Thats why I love to mix it up. You should all try changing your routine and see if it benefits your skin. After about a month of adjustment you should begin to see results. Be sure you know about the products you're using. Every product I use both skin care and make up is cruelty free. I don't personally believe that animals should have to go though experiments so that I can look pretty. That is why in the last year I have changed my toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, and a vast amount of other things. So, in your quest for better skin make sure you are informed about the products you're using. XOXO, Hunter While a month long break from school felt SO good and was much needed, I'm ready to get back into the swing of things. The day this blog goes up will mark my second day back to school and back to my work study job on campus. During winter break I decided to change up my eating habits. I went through a rather strenuious sugar detox and also cut out cards. All that I really need to do know is start working out. Lucky for me, the on campus wellness center is the perfect place to do so. I set up my schedule so that the majority of my classes are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday I set my schedule up so that I have one class in the morning and that leaves plenty of time to work out before I need to be at work. Twice a week may not be much, but in my opinion twice compared to the none I'm currently doing is pretty amazing. More in line with the actual school part of Back-to-School, my classes. I'm taking my final five classes at Cowley College and will be graduating in May! I feel super accomplished by this. I mean less than 50% of Americans complete their Associates Degree. So, it definitely is possible as long as you are willing to give a hundred and ten percent of yourself to better your future. If I can do this, anyone can! XOXO, Hunter My 2019 Bucket List
Having goals for the new year is great. However, making a list of things you absolutely want to do before the year is up is one way to insure you make the most of your year, XOXO, Hunter
2018 was truly a year of lessons. Some more painful than others, but each of them just as important as the next. I can't wait to see what lessons 2019 has in store for me. XOXO, Hunter Disclaimer: This is not meant to be a form of bragging. I shop sales throughout the year, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday just like everyone else. This post is a way of giving you guys some future gift ideas. I'm the type of person who loves to give people things I know they will love. If I am unable to find what I believe to be the perfect gift I would almost rather not give a gift at all. As a result I spend a lot of time listening for hints people drop and paying attention to how they spend their time. This way I can win the competition with myself of getting someone the perfect gift. This year wasn't my best but I think I did a pretty good job. My ultimate goal is (something some people consider rude) making the receiver cry. Tears of joy usually, I just like to provoke an emotional response. Gifts I Gave This Year
I hope my list has inspired some magnificent gift ideas. Hopefully, you now have a plan going into the year so you can watch out for sales, coupon codes, and clearance events. Go forth and gift well Wisdom Warriors! XOXO, Hunter |
